I have been doing drafting work since I was in high
school.
My first job was at Geotech, Inc. where I did
mechanical drafting for Caterpillar Tractor Co. farmed out to
Geotech. Also civil engineering drawings for subdivisions &
streets. I worked there from November of 1975 to January of 1977.
In January of 1977 I started work at my
previous employer (where I was employed for over 25 years). I was hired to do
all the drafting for the company (mechanical, electrical schematics,
architectural & a variety of other things). In 1987 I started
using AutoCAD & have been using it ever since. 
At my previous employer we use 3D drawings to aid in the
design process. It's extremely helpful to reduce mistakes in design
& manufacturing.
Since the early 1980's I have been doing freelance
drafting for a variety of people & companies. People
building their own homes who need working drawings
for construction.
